About ZEMA
Born from the creative bond between cousins, artists, and mothers, ZEMA is a sculptural homeware brand rooted in storytelling, color, and joy. We believe art should be lived with—not just looked at. We create sculptural objects for the everyday: bold, joyful pieces crafted from our signature resin and designed to last.
Each piece is an invitation—to gather, to play, to experience design as an extension of human connection. We create for spaces that are as bold as they are intimate, where objects are meant to be handled, admired, and passed from one generation to the next. Meticulously handcrafted in Colombia, ZEMA fuses material innovation with artistic intuition, crafting objects that are both functional and emotionally resonant.
Our Material
Resin, reimagined.
Our signature resin is not just a medium—it’s a message. Lightweight yet enduring. Vibrant yet sculptural. Child-proof and dinner-party ready. Every pour is unique, every piece a tactile experience.
Chosen for its versatility and expressive potential, resin allows us to transcend the boundary between utility and aesthetics. Through this medium, we explore playful silhouettes and architectural lines, marrying everyday function with enduring artistic presence.
The Founders
Laura Pelaez Vigna
An engineer by training and a creative by instinct, Laura spent a decade at the intersection of technology and design, building software products that balanced precision and imagination. With a deep academic interest in medieval literature and a lifelong reverence for narrative, she brings a uniquely conceptual approach to form—merging structure, symbolism, and storytelling in every piece.
Julie Vigna Saade
An industrial designer and dedicated educator, Julie leads the Art Department at one of Barranquilla’s foremost institutions and is celebrated for her immersive, cross-disciplinary approach to creative expression. Her background spans fine arts, product design, and contemporary craft, grounding ZEMA’s collections in both aesthetic rigor and emotional intelligence. Her work reflects a commitment to art that is lived, shared, and deeply felt.
At ZEMA, the everyday is sculpted with intention.
